The emergency drain pan under this air handler had failed, so we shut the system down, disconnected the drain lines, and lifted the unit off to pull the old pan. We set a new pan sized to the unit, leveled it, and reset the air handler so condensate drains properly. We reconnected the primary drain, tested the float switch on the new pan, ran the system, and checked every joint for leaks before confirming both drains were flowing.
  • Checked out an aging R-22 heat pump in Greer, off De Kalb Drive, Greer, SC. Found this heat pump still running but a bit low on refrigerant. Since it's an older R-22 system, topping off the charge isn't a real fix, that refrigerant is being phased out and increasingly hard to source, so it's really just a band-aid on a system nearing the end of its service life. We talked through options on site, and the homeowner is looking at replacing the split system with a new packaged heat pump, which would also mean updating the ductwork to match. We're putting together a proposal for the full changeover.
  • Fixed a refrigerant leak on a mini-split, off South Old Highway 14, Greer, SC. This ductless system had a flare joint that had worked loose, letting refrigerant escape and leaving the indoor unit blowing warm. We tracked the leak to the fitting, repaired the flare connection, and pulled the system back down to check it held. After recharging and testing, the mini-split was back to blowing cold air and running the way it should.
